International Human Rights Day was celebrated by SMS Law College Varanasi on 10th December 2025.

SMS Law College Varanasi organized " International Human Rights Day on 10th December 2025. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness among citizens across the globe regarding how human rights play a remarkable role in constructing Communities for a better and harmonious future.

The Theme for this Year is " Human Rights , Our Everyday Essentials".Our honorable Principal SMS Law College Varanasi Dr.Prabhat Kumar Srivastava Sir gave thoughtful perspectives on Human Rights , its needs , importance and how they contribute in maintaining the integrity and dignity of Individuals. 

The session was coordinated by Dr.Ashraya Dubey Mam, Assistant Professor, SMS Law College Varanasi .

All the Faculty members Dr. Upasana Wali, Dr. Sangeeta Singh , Mr. Ankit Rai , Mr. Avinash Roy and Dr.Himanshu Giri were present.A brainstorming debate was conducted among B.A.LL.B Third , Fifth and Seventh Semester students .Ist prize was bagged by Muskan Chaturvedi, Anjali and Shivangi from 7th Semester.2nd prize was bagged by Vivek Sonkar, Vaishnavi Singh and Sanskriti Yadav from third semester.3rd prize was bagged by Anubhav Pandey , Aman Singh and Rashi from third semester.The best Speaker award was given to Anamika Yadav from the Third Semester.

In lieu of the event an Awareness Programme was initiated by the students at Khushipur Village , Bachhawn .The campaign had the utmost motive to spread awareness about Human Rights guaranteed to them by the Constitution.

Information was given regarding the presence of the Free Legal Aid Clinic at the College from 2pm to 3pm ( Monday to Friday) specially for Underprivileged and Marginalized people. Plethora of issues were discussed by our students like Women Rights, Labour Rights, Child Rights and Consumer Rights.Human Rights Awareness should reach to all and with this motive , our students also actively participated in organising A Rally for raising consciousness and awareness about Human Rights to all.
