SMS Law College Varanasi celebrated National Legal Services Day on 9th November, 2025. The primary purpose of this day is to empower citizens especially the poor and vulnerable by increasing their understanding of rights , responsibilities and legal system.

The day is a benchmark in raising awareness of their rights and available services .

On this Occasion, we were honoured to have among us Shri Alok Kumar , Additional District and Session Judge and Secretary , District Legal Services Authority, Varanasi. Sir also explained that free legal aid should be provided to those who cannot afford it . Lastly he also added that Justice becomes meaningful only when its available to everyone and equally without discrimination.

 An interactive Question/ Answer Session wad held in which students actively participated.


The Welcome Address was given by Principal SMS Law College Varanasi , Dr.Prabhat Kumar Srivastava Sir who enlightened the session by highlighting the need to celebrate this day and importance it serves in respect to providing justice to all.

The programme had the presence of all faculty members  Mr .Ankit Rai , Dr.Sangeeta Singh , Dr.Himanshu Giri and Mr.Avinash Roy .

The session was coordinated by Dr.Upasana Wali.

The awareness session strengthened the students on how law truly serves society and reminded us of our duty as future legal professionals to ensure justice reaches every individual.
